Q: How long does a single tanning session last?
A: No more than 15 minutes including spraying and drying time.
Q: Should I shave before or after my sunless tan?
A: Shaving is a form of exfoliation so you should shave about 8 hours before the application. Shaving after will take off some of your tan.
Q: How can I protect my sunless tan from fading while in hot tubs, swimming pools and the ocean?
A: After your tan has developed and after your first post-tan shower, you can minimize fading by liberally and frequently apply a good, strong waterproof sunscreen before submersing yourself.
Q: I like my sunless tan just the way it is - how do I keep it?
A: Make sure you moisturize every day with a mild moisturizer.
Q: Should I remove my deodorant before my sunless tan?
A: Yes. For the best result remove deodorant and moisturize under arm. Wait 3 hours to reapply deodorant after a sunless tan.
Q: How long does a sunless tan last?
A: Depending on a person's activities and skin type, the tan lasts approximately 5-7 days. Using a tan extending lotion like Ultimate Tan Refreshment Tanning Extender (with DHA and Erythrulose) on the skin daily will help extend tanning results while keeping the tan looking healthy and glowing. A sunless tan is not a long term commitment, so it is great to try for the first time!
Q: Does a sunless tan harm or cover up tattoos?
A: No. Lux Sun Solution will not harm tattoos, but if you have yellow or light tones, it can temporarily darken the color a bit, until your tan fades. If you don't want that to happen, just cover the tattoo lightly
with moisturizer lotion BEFORE your sunless tan.
Q: What if I normally can't get very tan?
A: A person can get tan with a Spray Tan Kit Sunless Tan. When receiving a spray tan from Spray Tan Kit-a person does not need their melanocytes to be in working order. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), is the active ingredient in Spray Tan Kit's
SunpSpray Solution which saturates the dead skin cells in the outermost layer of skin, where it turns the protein in the dead cells golden tan.
Q: Normally I freckle in the sun... will spray tanning cause freckles?
A: No. Lux Sun by Spray Tan Kit does not cause freckles.
Q: I'm bald-can my head be sprayed?
A: Yes, and your tanning expert can make it look most natural.
Q: I'm pregnant and/or nursing-can I still receive a sunless tan?
A: The concern some doctors have is over whether or not the active ingredient (DHA) is able to enter the blood stream; the indications are that it cannot. DHA only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. However, we
recommend all clients get permission from their physician first. DHA has been used as a cosmetic ingredient in the United States since 1960 and no problems have ever been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin.
Q: Will my Sunless Tan stain my pajamas or sheets?
A: The cosmetic tan in Spray Tan Kit's Lux Sun Solution will wash off your skin after your first post-tan shower. But until then, the cosmetic tan is water salable and should not stain most fabrics. Most fabrics and materials are
completely safe. Excess sweat from menopausal hot flashes will cause the cosmetic color to come off on sheets. Male clients have complained that the collar on their white shirt gets may sometime have "tan" on it.

Q: What is the advantage of getting a sunless tan instead of a UV tan?
A: Spray tanning with Spray Tan Kit does not have the potential to give you melanoma, wrinkles, age spots, moles, freckles, or sunspots. People with sensitive skin or people who have a hard time tanning, be it natural or in
tanning beds, will find this form of tanning very comforting. One application with spray tanning will be equivalent to approximately 6 tanning bed sessions, therefore making it cost effective and healthy.
Q: What is the difference between spray tanning and using creams and lotions that contain DHA at home?
A: Most sunless spray tans have a higher percentage of DHA-thus giving a
deeper tan. Lux Sun by Spray Tan Kit is formulated frequently- so that the DHA
in the product you are relying on to give you that gorgeous glow is very,
very fresh and of the highest quality. A Spray Tan Kit spray tan also has a
higher percentage of DHA than most over the counter self tanners and will
give you streak-free, consistent results.
Q: Can I UV tan on top of my sunless tan?
A: Yes. Please be advised that not all Lux Sun Solution by Spray Tan Kit carries SPF. There is not SPF in our solution unless otherwise said. Lux Sun does not contain sunscreen protection, so you should apply sunscreen accordingly. If you choose to expose your skin to UV rays either from the sun or a tanning bed, it is important to use a lotion with SPF to protect you from the sun's harmful rays.
Q: How do I prepare for a sunless tan?
A: For maximum results, before your session, shower and exfoliate the skin. Get all of your spa treatments done including facials, pedicures & manicures, massages and facials done prior to your tanning session. Make
sure your skin is free of moisturizers, perfumes, lotions, oils, deodorants, gels or any product on the skin.
Q: What should I wear during my sunless tan?
A: Attire for women is whatever you are comfortable with. Many things can be done to minimize tan lines. The key is your comfort level. Attire for men is boxers, briefs, swim trunks or shorts. The FDA does not recommend that you tan nude.however, if you wish to do so, please consult with your tanning specialist prior to your tanning session. Your tanning specialist will use the utmost discretion.
